Ken Evoy's Site Build It-Real Deal Or Overpriced Beginners Hosting?

For a long time, you've probably heard the hype about Ken Evoy's company Sitesell. Their flagship product Site Build It! (SBI!) has a very loyal group of followers that sing the praises of the all-in-one hosting solution every chance they get. The problem, as with most 'reviews', is that you don't know if the praises are coming from affiliates incentivized by a fairly large affiliate commission or because of the pure love of the product.
Well, it's probably a little bit of both. In this world of "Get Rich Quick" salesletters and product launches, it's hard to believe that an affiliate would have that much experience with the product they are promoting. But in Sitesell's case, most of their top affiliates are, in fact, customers that love the SBI product. So for the majority of affiliates, their decision to promote the company does come from the fact that they got a lot of value out of the product itself. And I can tell you from someone that frequents the Sitesell forums, there are no shortage of die-hard loyalists that are using the product.
So now that we've established that the affiliate promotion isn't just in searches of a big payday, let's talk about the actual product. What is SBI? To appreciate the completeness of the SBI product, you need to first look at the roots of where it came from. Where most website owners start is with a basic hosting account. Most hosting could cost as little as just $5/month, but you truly get what you pay for. Hosting companies know that the average website owner will take up little server space because they will drive very little traffic to the site. So essentially they are offering you a lot of bandwidth for a cheap price, knowing that there is no way you will use it all.
Ken Evoy saw this problem and decided something needed to be done about it. So much more goes into building a website than finding a cheap host, registering a domain, and hoping some traffic comes there. What he decided to do was to create a package product that encompassed all the best practices that a user should follow in order to not only build a professional site, but also to drive significant amount of traffic to it. Moreover, he wanted a complete internet novice to be able to use his product without getting bogged down in HTML, web design, server issues, and programming.
And that's what you get when you purchase SBI. When you first sign up, you are given "The Action Guide" which explains some history of the web, how the search engines work, and a step by step guide to building your site using SBI. The guide is written by Ken Evoy himself so the tone is non-technical and conversational. The guide is broken up by days and takes you through the process of brainstorming topics you might be passionate about and have profit-potential, building the site, and then promoting the site. Quite simply, it gives you the road map to being a successful internet entrepreneur .
Is Sitesell for everyone? Probably not. Sitesell is not the best solution for someone who needs to have access to the server via FTP since they do not allow it. It's also not the best product for anyone looking to start an ecommerce store, people would be much better off reading some of Ken Evoy's free material and then using an established e-commerce platform that will be much more suitable for a large catalog site.
But, for 99% of people wanting to earn an income online, SBI is a can't go wrong option. The tools provided make it easy to research profitable topics, build a page that the search engines will love, and how to continue to promote and market your website. And the best part, it has an owner that believes in "Keeping it real". This isn't a get rich quick scheme, it's a real solution for somebody that wants to earn income online without having to join an MLM program or write salesletters that sound like late night infomericals.
I can speak from experience, in my opinion SBI is the best way for someone new getting started online. That's where I started and I grew my site to the point where it not only supports myself and my family, but also my parents. Don't get me wrong, it was hard work but I had support there the entire way to keep me on the right path. You can put a website up on the web for cheaper than a Sitesell subscription, but remember that is the easy part. The hard part is picking the right market, the know-how to build the site, and to get it marketed correctly. And nobody does that like SBI. There may come a time when you need more functionality than SBI can offer, and then you'll know you can move on. But if you've never made a dime online, then SBI might be the way to remove the barriers and finally fire that boss of yours!
